4 Recipes To Try This Fall

This month is all about passion and if you’ve been lucky enough to attend one of our parties, you’ll know that throwing down in the kitchen is my love language. Since moving back home full time after 16 months working out of town, I’ve been whipping up a ton of new recipes and have reignited my inspiration in the kitchen. BH will tell you that cleaning up after I make a meal is tedious (I tend to use ALLLLLL the dishes) but I bet he couldn't tell you that I’ve ever made him a bad meal, and in my opinion, that’s all that matters.

I wanted to share some of my favourite recipes that I’ve come across so far this year, here’s hoping your passion in the kitchen shines!

Oven-Fried Southern Hot Honey Chicken by Halfbaked Harvest

Truly, this recipe is the one I keep going back to again and again. The chicken is crispy, juicy and spicy with the addition of hot honey butter which you can adjust to your taste. I’ve made it with both chicken breast and thighs and while I’m not a huge thigh fan, in this recipe, they seemed to work best. The cornflake coating takes the crunchiness to the next level.

Beef & Cheddar Handpies by Martha Stewart

I stumbled upon this one while on the search for a quick ground beef recipe that wasn’t burgers and we were not disappointed! I’m a fan of puff pastry all the time but the beef and cheddar mixture is so comforting, it’s a perfect recipe to try this fall. Next time I make it, I plan on adding mushrooms as well to amp it up.

Sour Cream & Cheddar Biscuits by Cup of Jo

Popeye’s and Red Lobster have nothing on these biscuits. They’re fluffy, flavourful and so delicious. I loved the addition of sour cream and green onions making them a little zippy. Eat warm or use as a vessel for your favourite breakfast sandwich. You’re welcome.

Rice and Peas by Cook Like a Jamaican

We LOVED our trip to Jamaica a few years ago, everything about it was fabulous BUT what stood out the most was definitely out daily trip to the jerk chicken hut on the beach. I tried this recipe on a whim and we’ve had it a few times since then. It is LEGIT. I’m especially fond of the fact that it’s made with ingredients that I typically have in my pantry.

And that’s what’s up in our kitchen lately. What about you - any recipes you’d like to share?
