On Shifting Seasons (+ Sunday Roundup)

It’s hard to believe that we’ve already reached the last week of summer, quintessentially marked by the 2-week run of The Ex, darker mornings and a familiar crispness in the air.

I’d be lying if I told you I’m sad to see summer go. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the sun-kissed skin, booze-soaked nights and jam-packed schedules but something about Autumn just does it for me.

In fact, I think more specifically, something about the shift of the season is truly what tugs on my heartstrings. The progression of a year signaled by the changing foliage, and the growth - and subsequent harvest - of our neighbour’s corn crop.

Moreso still, I guess it’s the reminder that our hearts have still been beating and our lungs have still been breathing for another turn around the sun. That makes me feel so small and so alive all at the same time. It’s a happy and melancholic balance and I can’t help my soul lighting up at the thought of progress and the potential of memories right around the seasonal corner.

But enough about me.

Here are think links I’m loving lately.

  1. Like me, you probably need to walk more.

  2. Still swooning over Joanna Gaines’ summer update, seriously, I could read her writing all day.

  3. This article on finding the right therapist for you. It’s not one size fits all, people.

  4. If you’re a fan of Myers Briggs, the Enneagram or any of those personality tests, you’re going to want to check this one out. SO ACCURATE.

  5. A few thoughts on hustling with your hobby - does everything you do need to be a money maker?
