Hello September (+ Sunday Roundup)
I’m trying something new around here and using the first Sunday of the month to share a letter detailing what’s been happening with Catchall Creative, and my life and what you can expect for the month ahead. I’m excited to share some things I’m excited about each month and I hope you’re about it too. Let’s get into it, shall we?
September, it’s nice to see you again ol’ friend!
The Summer, as usual, was abundant with memories and sing-a-longs around the bonfire. With no shortage of celebrations, libations, and a few lessons - it might hold the record for my favourite Summer so far, closely followed by the year we got the itch in New Brunswick (1999) and the year the typhoon rolled through our Bobcaygeon campground (2007).
Yep, some of the most vivid memories I have growing up include a bacteria-induced rash from a lake and one of the most intense storms I’ve ever experienced washing my Crocs right out of our campsite.
On the surface, it sounds totally nuts - I know. But what I failed to mention was that I was surrounded by family and friends and that’s what made it memorable. Sometimes I can still hear our laughter echo as we practiced for the MacKinnon family talent show or played games in the trailer as our parents battened up the hatches.
In case it isn’t clear yet, life for me has become less about the places and things, and more about the people. It’s better that way. The theme for this month is Passion. And I can tell you first hand, it's so much easier to find yours when you spend time with people that enrich your life.
There’s a ton of great content lined up for the blog this month. We’re talking about reigniting your passion as a creative entrepreneur, I’ll be sharing my favourite recipes lately, you’ll learn what you can outsource to a Virtual Assistant and I’ll be recapping an event I’m VERY excited for.
But above all else, we’ll be focussing on doing things that fill our hearts so I’ll challenge you to spend 30 minutes a day doing something you're passionate about for the whole month. I think you’ll be surprised at how good you feel when October rolls around.
